Liberty hosted a fish fryThursday night at the P City rink as they
roasted the Raw Fish 8-3. Most of the night it felt like Liberty
had the game
under control, but in the final analysis the shots favored the Blue
Man Crew
34-28. The stats showed Faerge with 31 saves-- which I find interesting
in
a 28 shot contest. Now that is goaltending!! Not to mention some
creative
accounting. Must be some sort of new math. Hard to pick just three
stars
in this contest as everyone's play twinkled brilliantly on the evening.
You
might say Team Liberty had enough stars to form it own constellation.
Faerge's netminding shone brightly enough to garner him top honors.
David
"Snuffy" Theodosopoulos returned to the line-up like a
man possesed and
tallied 1 goal and 3 assists to get the second star nod. Snuffy
had better
phone in his reservation for his campsite in the slot early next
week. He
effectively jumped up in the play all night as he crashed more often
than
Evel Kneivel. Jimmy Golden continued to dazzle as he netted a pair
of goals
and one helper for third star honors. Honorable mention goes to
new
acquisition Eric Gorman. In his first skate in a Liberty jersey,
Eric knocked
in a beautiful goal while collecting a pair of assists. The remaining
stars
comprising the blue clad constellation contributed strong play across
the
board and balanced scoring in a solid team effort. The most unfortunate
moment during the game came in the second period when a sniper deftly
shot Tapper's legs out from under him. Mercifully, the posion on
the dart
that felled him wore off quickly as he regained his feet and continued
play
immediately.

roster. McCabe was sent to the minors.
